”Every victory, big or small, is a victory!"
Britney received her Associates in Applied Science from Colby Community College where she played basketball until injuries plagued her ability to continue. "I started playing basketball at a young age and it quickly became my passion.” She has participated in various athletics while pursuing her secondary education including basketball, volleyball, track and powerlifting. Her experience in sports caused her to dabble in the up-and-coming field of physical therapy hoping to work with local area athletes in treating sports injuries allowing her to stay in the game, even at a distance.
Having lived with a grandmother that battled ALS, Britney is extremely driven to helping others—in particular the “seasoned” population—to improving their overall quality of life. Paired with her own history of knee troubles and physical therapy treatment experience, she now finds herself delivering physical therapy services to patients. Britney has worked in and out of the Heritage Community Nursing Home since 2003 and has been full time since 2013. She currently delivers skilled-nursing long-term care in the assisted living and memory care unit. Her focus is on function, whether it is strength, balance, gait or even modified tasks. One of Britney’s key attributes is understanding that “not everyone fits the textbook” and striving to find remedies. "I enjoy a good challenge, but even more than that, I LOVE seeing my patients succeed! Every victory, big or small, is a victory!”
Britney is devoted to her husband, children and dog leaving her little time for anything else. She prizes family time and is at present content with doing her best in raising her children to become caring people.
